How to get Positive People into Your Life

Hi everyone – let me ask you some questions:

  • Are you sitting there thinking that you are too busy to meet up with positive people who would support you in your life, business or career?
  • Do you have people surrounding you that are mood hoovers and drag your mood down?
  • Are you making excuses to avoid going out  and getting that support which would help you to be positive, motivated and full of energy?

This is what I think –  I could be sitting doing my business, writing blogs, seeing clients or people that are interested in me supporting them and, as a result, forget to interact with positive people.  I don’t in general have people who lower my mood around me as I have taken action to either change them to positive support or removed them from my life – sounds a bit harsh doesn’t it – but its part of keeping myself in a good space. So what is your gut feeling about your positive support? Do you need more or do you have the right people around you?

If you need more, who would they be? Get a piece of paper and start to make a list. Watch the ABCD coaching video on my Mindset for Success course. You can test people out to see if they are truly supportive or not.

Make a list of what you want to talk to people about and run past them and also what you can do for them.

Getting Out There!

Get Out There - I am Bold NeonIt took me a while-to have the courage to stand up and say what I do. And as I stood in a business show recently, I thought back to the time when standing up and talking was scary and my legs were very wobbly-a lot of the time!

And it was because I was running a story in my head and that negative chatter was telling me
I’m not good enough
What will people think?
I can’t do a video

But gradually, I realised that I had a BIG WHY for doing it – to help as many people as possible to be who they wanted to be, do what they want to do and have what they want to have. So I took a big breath and got out there and put myself out of my comfort zone.

I’m wondering-

Is there somewhere in your life where you are not getting out there? Is your story stopping you from doing it?

If you did (get out there) what would happen? What would be different?

And if you didn’t (get out there) what would happen?

Expectation – good or bad?

I’m going to be controversial.

We want results in life – right?

And is it ok to have what we want – right?

Great Relationships, Wealth, Health, Business or career success, Fun, Happiness, Anything else that we want

Some people believe that expectation leads to sadness and disappointment and I sort of get that, but if you are just leaving things to chance in case you get disappointed, then you are not in charge of your life- after all, your thoughts become your reality so let’s expect good things to happen!!!

Some Questions

Q.Have you ever noticed that the results that you get are directly related to your expectation of what is going to happen?

Q.Have you ever heard that “what you get is what you focus on”?

Q.And could you change your thoughts so that you are fully focused, have amazing goals and take the action needed?

I’ve been thinking about what we need to do to get what we want and have come up with these for you which are for your consideration ?

  • Develop a great emotional state
  • Have an expectation of getting what you want
  • Create goals that are specific and in your mind all of the time
  • Have empowering beliefs in yourself and  your ability to create the life that you want
  • And then take action!

What might be stopping you?

  • A lack of goals?

What Do You Do When the Going Gets Tough?

Go for what you want!

It’s a personal story today. A year or so ago I had to very sadly have an 11/12-month-old Bull Terrier puppy called Thud put down. He unfortunately had a kidney disease and in the end just stopped eating and drinking, so it was the only thing we could do for him, and it was a tough time!

It has taken quite a bit of courage for me to even think about getting another one.  I had a lot of worries going around my head, such as; “Is it ok with my husband to get another puppy?”, “Should I get an older dog?”, “What will the cat think?” (although she was always in charge of Thud!) and “Could I cope with another loss if the worst happened again?”

In the end, it got to a point where I was just feeling sad and not getting anything done, so I asked myself: “How important is it to you to have another puppy Bridget?” And the answer was – very important!

It was at this point that I had an inkling to look on Gum Tree to see what puppies were nearby, and guess what! There was a litter of Bull Terrier puppies about 20 miles away. I rang up that day and found out they had 2 left. I went to visit and put a deposit down that day!

I guess the question that I’d like you to think about today is “What do you do when the going gets tough?”

Do you procrastinate? Ask friends? Have sleepless nights? Or other unhelpful things? Or do you ask yourself “Is this important to me”? And then just push through and get what you want?

Here’s an important thing to remember whenever you are faced with a tough decision –  Often, just before a break through, the going does get tough!

Not feeling motivated? This post is for you.

I recently realised that I was struggling with my motivation, particularly regarding my business and health, and this caused a bit of what I call “flip-flopping”! So, this week I have decided to focus on motivation and help you make sure that you are fully motivated in all areas of your life and in particular, the ones that are most important to you.

What is motivation?

Motivation is driven by our values, which we hold on an unconscious level. And our values can be affected by our beliefs. This means that as we grow and experience situations, positive and negative, it can change our values, which isn’t always useful.

My business values used to be Intrigue, Interest, Fun and Purpose. Although they felt OK, there wasn’t much movement in them to make me want to take action. Whilst I do have a successful business, there is also room for it to grow and allowing me to reach many more people!

I realized I needed to do something about this and set about changing my values. To do this I had to start with the limiting beliefs that were supporting my values. Once I changed those beliefs, with the help of my coach, my values changed and felt so much more suited to my businesses and me. And most importantly, my motivation is back and I am taking more action!

My business’ values are now Determination, Fun, Achievement and Purpose. Because I’ve got something as strong as determination at the top of my motivators, I’ve stopped doing the “flip-flopping” and am very determined!
